LaSalle Network is hiring a Senior Property Accountant for a leading student housing provider committed to delivering the best living experience for residents. Based in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market, this role supports property-level accounting operations, from journal entries and reconciliations to financial reporting and analysis. You’ll collaborate closely with property management teams, apply your analytical expertise, and contribute directly to the company’s continued growth.
Senior Property Accountant Responsibilities:
Prepare and review journal entries in compliance with GAAP and company procedures
Complete monthly reconciliations for bank and balance sheet accounts, ensuring clean documentation
Analyze property-level activity, financial trends, and operational results to detect and resolve irregularities
Partner with property and asset management teams on financial performance reviews
Assist in budget preparation, reforecasts, and cash flow monitoring
Prepare reports for monthly and annual close and support external audits
Participate in special projects and provide coverage for other accounting team members
Senior Property Accountant Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or advanced degree preferred
3+ years of property accounting experience
Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; Yardi Voyager and Entrata experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
Effective communicator comfortable working across all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
