Primary position expectations include the ability to:

  • Work collaboratively with engineering staff to solve practical geomechanics problems with a focus on Open Pit Mining.
  • Perform numerical modeling, analyze results, and communicate results to clients.
  • Continuous development of consulting business from existing and new clients.
  • Proposal preparation and project work, with the majority of time dedicated to billable work.
  • Ability to mentor team members.
  • Be self-directed, managing and completing projects on time and on budget.
  • Travel as required to visit client sites and attend conferences, up to 20% of the time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical, Geomechanics, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geophysics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with numerical modeling, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant post-graduate experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, Mining Engineer, Civil Engineer, Rock Mechanics Engineer, Geomechanics Engineer, or related position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Field experience and familiarity with Itasca software preferred.
